Nearly 60 Rust-Oleum Corporation associates participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in front of the company’s headquarters. The company accepted the request after being challenged by a fellow associate, who was challenged by his customer who recently lost his sister to the disease. The company also made one of the largest donations to the ALS Association in the company’s history, through its RO Cares program.

Rust-Oleum is dedicated to giving back to the community through its Rust-Oleum Cares program. For more than a decade, Rust-Oleum has been supporting organizations, causes and activities that strengthen education, promote wellness and serve the needs of others through its Rust-Oleum Cares program.

“Rust-Oleum and our associates were thrilled to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness and support ALS,” said Ed Voorhees, president of Rust-Oleum North America. “Our associates welcomed the challenge and we were happy to help make an impact on the cause.”

To add a twist, half of Rust-Oleum’s associates wore t-shirts coated in NeverWet Fabric, a superhydrophic water-repelling treatment that dramatically repels water from textiles. Following the challenge, half of Rust-Oleum’s associates remained dry while the other half were drenched.
